Language of Flowers
Flowers have been used to communicate messages for centuries. It became an art form during the Victorian era.Certain flowers have become traditional for use in weddings but the meaning goes beyond the esthetics of the arrangements or bouquets carried.
Ivy is a symbol of fidelity and affection while red roses, deep love. On the other hand yellow roses indicate a decrease in affection or simply friendship. A bouquet of withered flowers would be sent to reject affection.
Presentation was also important in the Victorian era. A flower offered with the right hand meant yes and offering from the left hand meant no.
