Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
In an effort to answer any questions that you might have about your Ohio wedding, we have complied a list of our most frequently asked questions. If your answer is not found here, you can always contact us.
We have broken this list into categories for you:
Thanks again for choosing WEDDINGBLUMS Wedding Chapel to be your Ohio Style wedding that has the convenience of a Vegas-Speed wedding. We are happy you chose the best!
Q. What will my wedding look like?
A. It depends on where your ceremony takes place. We have different venues for different preferences or number of guests but they are all beautiful locations. There is the Pewter Room, our cozy elopement chapel; Andrews House, for larger and/or more elaborate weddings, and Victorian Park, our large outdoor space for couples wishing to take advantage of good weather.
Q. Can I have a maid of honor or attendants?
A. While Ohio does not require witnesses, many brides want an honor attendant, bridesmaids, ring bearers and flower girls. These are wonderful additions to any ceremony and can be easily accommodated in any of our locations.
Q. Do we need to have a rehearsal?
A. It is the couple’s decision whether to have a rehearsal. We strongly recommend one if there will be attendants or the bride’s father is giving her away.
Q. Will my wedding be special?
A. We can tailor your ceremony to suit you. We have a book of favorite verses and wedding poems that will help you get a better idea of how you want the ceremony to feel. Our goal at WEDDINGBLUMS Wedding Chapel is to help you achieve all of the great things about a wedding, without all of the usual hassle.
Q. What is the difference between civil and religious ceremonies?
A. Civil ceremonies will have no prayers or religious additions to the service. A couple choosing a civil service may elect to have a favorite poem read.
Q. Is a wedding package better than an ala carte ceremony?
A. Packages are a great value for those who want a wedding with a lot of trimmings or a couple who have many guests attending. If the couple wants a short and sweet service, packages aren't necessary.
Q. Can I have fresh flowers in my bouquet?
A. Absolutely! We love catering to the bride and giving her just what she wants. We can offer a bouquet of red roses on a silver hand piece or yellow daisies with baby's breath and lemon leaves. There are also many other options to choose from. See our page on the meanings of flowers.
Q. Where will I change into my gown for the ceremony?
A. We have a Bride's Room that is available to change into your gown. It is included in many packages or available to rent by 30 minute segments if you do not have a package.
Q. Can I have my own minister?
A. Yes, certainly, there is no extra charge for using your own minister.
Q. Do I need a Wedding License before I get married?
A. Yes, you need a license in order to be married. However, Ohio does not require any blood tests or witnesses for a wedding ceremony.
Q. Where and when do I obtain my license?
A. You obtain your license in the county in which you reside, or will reside. If you are out of state, you may register at the Delaware County Courthouse. See our page on wedding licenses.
